About me

Loneliness is at record highs in 18–26 year olds. We are the most connected generation in human history, yet the loneliest. Most existing apps make this worse — they optimize for scrolling, swiping, broadcasting, and dating.

I'm Tim. I've spent the last year talking to Utrecht students and young professionals about how they actually try to meet new people. The answer: they don't. The barriers are not motivation — they're logistics. Where do we go? When? Who pays? Is this weird?

Table42 is my answer. It's a friend-meetup app — emphatically not a dating app — that solves the logistics by requiring three things to make a meetup count: a verified venue, a structured time slot, and a mutual QR scan to confirm you both showed up. You pay 1 credit (€1) per meetup, earn a unique badge, and optionally become friends.

We're testing in Utrecht in autumn 2026 with 1,000–3,000 hand-picked users. After the test, a professional company rebuilds it for the world.

What makes it different

A verified venue

We personally onboard every café and pizza place. No random locations.

A structured time slot

No endless “we should hang out sometime”. You pick a real moment.

A mutual QR scan

The meetup only counts when you both actually show up.
